Poythress Receives Endorsement of Thomasville Times-Enterprise

The Thomasville Times-Enterprise has endorsed General David Poythress in the July 20th Democratic Primary for Governor of Georgia.  This is the first print-media endorsement in the Georgia Gubernatorial contest.

In their endorsement, the editorial staff of the Times-Enterprise writes "Georgia is in desperate need of a proven leader, and we think David Poythress is the best of the Democrats’ lot. He has a record of success in a variety of jobs in the private sector, the public sector and the military."

The Times-Enterprise also wrote about General Poythress' leadership ability, saying"Poythress’ record as a successful leader in public service, military service and the private sector is substantial."

General Poythress, the former Commanding General of Georgia's National Guard, as well as a former Secretary of State and Commissioner of Labor, has focused his campaign on bringing jobs back to Georgia, turning our classrooms into 21st Century Learning Centers, and finding solutions to Georgia's transportation andwater problems.

Poythress has pledged to not take a salary as Governor until unemployment is under 7%.  Georgia's unemployment rate currently stands at 10.2%.
